According to SLPP Green Drone, the Government of Sierra Leone has on April 4, 2022 signed an Aide Memoir with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) after a successful appraisal mission on Lot 2 of the Tikonko Junction – Kpetema – Mattru Jong Road.

The Aide Memoir will lead to the signing of a US$25 million laon agreement in June 2022 to finance the reconstruction of the said road project.

The would-be agreement will sum a total loan of US$50 million that BADEA will give to Sierra Leone to reconstruct the entire 78km stretch from Tikonko Junction to Mattru Jong and the connecting road to Serabu.

After the signing of the Loan Agreement in June 2022, the procurement process for Lot 2 will start in October 2022 for the actual project implementation to kick-off in early 2023
