Sierra Leone will join the global community in commemorating World Public Service Day with a series of activities scheduled for June 20-23, 2026, in Freetown.
The three-day event will feature a health walk, a symposium, and an awards ceremony.
The health walk will take place on Saturday, June 20, at 7:00 a.m., starting from the Youyi Building and ending at Aberdeen Beach.
On Monday, June 22, a symposium themed “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Participation and Inclusion” will be held at the Miata Civic Centre, Youyi Building.
The commemoration will conclude on Tuesday, June 23, with a Public Service Awards ceremony at the Miata Civic Centre. President Julius Maada Bio will present awards to “Legends of the Civil/Public Service” in recognition of their sacrifices and dedicated service to the government and people of Sierra Leone.
Organizers have called on the public to participate in the activities to celebrate the country’s civil and public service professionals.
