First Lady Fatima Bio has reaffirmed her commitment to child health and immunisation, highlighting the critical role of parents, healthcare workers, and communities in ensuring that every child receives life-saving vaccines.

In a statement supporting global vaccination efforts, the First Lady emphasised that behind every vaccinated child is a network of dedication and sacrifice—from parents choosing hope over fear to health workers traveling long distances to reach underserved communities. She stressed the importance of unity in achieving equitable healthcare access, declaring that ”no child should be left behind.”

Her message aligns with ongoing efforts by global health organisations such as GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance and the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), both of which continue to advocate for expanded immunisation coverage across Africa.

As Sierra Leone strengthens its public health systems, the First Lady’s call reinforces the urgency of sustaining vaccination campaigns to protect future generations and prevent the resurgence of preventable diseases.

Health experts say continued collaboration between governments, international partners, and local communities remains essential to maintaining progress and ensuring that vaccines reach even the most remote populations.
