A Sierra Leonean Woman identified as Mabinty Sesay has died following her husband’s arrest, after the police found harmful drugs in his possession.

According to a report from the Harbour Police Division Operation’s Team, on Thursday 1st December, 2022, at 1300 hours, they undertook raids within the Peace Market, PWD, where a search was conducted in the premise of one Abdul Razack Smart (now suspect).

The report continued that during the search, huge quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and Kush were discovered and suspect Abdul Razack Smart claimed ownership of same.

It added that the suspect Abdul Razack Smart was arrested and while being conveyed to the Police Station, his wife (Mabinty Sesay) who was not under arrest decided to accompany him.

The report stated that upon arrival at the Harbour Police Station, at Ross Road, Mabinty (now deceased) was outside the Station, while her husband (suspect Abdul Razack Smart) was inside, being cautioned and questioned by the Police.

It added that all of a sudden, she (Mabinty) collapsed and she had to be immediately rushed to the Clinic at Ross Road for treatment, adding that it was while being checked by the attending Community Health Officer (CHO) that she was pronounced dead.

The police nformed that her corpse has been conveyed to the Connaught Hospital’s Mortuary for autopsy/postmortem and that further details will be released to the public as the investigation unfolds.
