According to the Deputy Media and Public Relations Officers of Sierra Leone Police, ASP Mohamed Bobson Senu on the same day, Chief Inspector Anthony Kpassipo commander in charge attached to the newly created security checkpoint at Waleihun Village Nimiyama Chiefdom, Kono District arrested and brought in Ishmael Kamara a motorbike rider of Fothanch-Tama Village Konikay Chiefdom Tonkolili District reported that on the above date.

He added that the letter was interpreted at the said checkpoint with a black Back Pack bag containing a dismantled locally made shotgun bullet, one dagger, one machete, one hacksaw, and few men’s wearing.

ASP Senu said, while being interrogated on the spot about the said items, the suspect revealed that the bag belongs to the pillion who immediately escaped into a nearby bush without giving particulars of himself.

According to him, the rider state that he only came in contact with the said pillion on September 1st 2022 at One Bode Village Konikay Chiefdom, to be conveyed to Nimiyama Chiefdom, Kono District on hire at the cost of NLe 20.00. The name and address of the escaped pillion are yet unknown.
The suspect is in custody and an investigation is in progress.
