The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has announced that results from collation Saturday polls at regional tally centres will commence today.

“The ECSL will like to inform the public, Elections stakeholders and political parties that the tallying of the June 24, 2023 multitier election results will commence on Sunday 25th June 2023 in the respective Regional Tally Centres,” the Commission said in a notice.

Results from both Western Are Rural and Urban Districts will be collated at the Western Area National Data Centre at 15 Wellington Industrial Estate.

Meanwhile results collation for the Southern Region will be done at the ECSL’s Regional office in Bo City.

The ECSL also said that results collation for the Northern Region will be done at their Regional Office on Azzolinni Highway in Makeni City.

Results collation for the Eastern Region will also be done at the ECSL’s office in Kenema.

The District Council Hall in Port Loko will serve as the North West Region results collation centre.

The Commission sent invites to political parties, observers and the media to witness the process at the various regional tally centres across the country.

“Only two persons per institution (media, domestic/international observer) will be allowed,” the ECSL said.

Manual counting was done yesterday at various polling units at the close of polls. While the media is at current saturated with provisional results, the opening of the said tally centres is the first massive step in the process of results collation that will be leading announcement by the Chief Electoral Commissioner of the ECSL, Mohamed Konneh.
