Mohamed Kamara has emerged victorious in the National Grand Coalition (NGC) chairmanship election after securing 390 votes out of a total of 470 delegates.

Kamara’s 390 votes represent approximately 83 per cent of the votes cast, giving him a clear majority in the election.

His election places him at the helm of the NGC as the party seeks to strengthen its internal structures, consolidate its membership and chart its political direction ahead of future engagements.

The NGC, which remains part of Sierra Leone’s multiparty political landscape, is expected to look to its new leadership to provide strategic direction and strengthen cohesion within the party.
