Sierra Leone national team head coach, John Keister has made a late call-up for Liberian club LISCR’s striker Ishmael Dumbuya.
Dumbuya was the leading top goal scorer in the just concluded top tier Liberian league with 20 goals while providing 12 assists in just 24 appearances.
The goal poacher was not part of Keister’s initial plan as he missed out on the 38-man tentative shortlist.
The former PS Zico Foundation player could earn his debut against Nigeria on June 18 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sport Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia.
Sport fanatics in the country have said that the striker could be crucial for Sierra Leone against Nigeria as key names including Jonathan Morsay and Sullay Kaikai are missing out.
Sierra Leone need a win to keep their dream alive in the Group A AFCONQ.
A draw for Nigeria could see them progress to the finals in Ivory Coast next year.
Contenders, Guinea Bissau will be playing against Group minnows Sao Tome Principe in another match.
