Babadi Kamara, the Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers and Chief Executive Officer of the Southern Arena Stadium, demonstrated his commitment to football development by providing both financial and football support to Mena Queens FC and Albitaya Queens FC. The two teams represent the North East Region in the 2023/24 Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League season.

The event, held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the North East Region Football Association (NERFA) secretariat on Azzolini Highway in Makeni, saw a gathering of executive members from NERFA.

Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura of Bombali District presented the support, which included a sum of Fifty Thousand Leones (NLe 50,000) and twenty footballs. Bangura highlighted Kamara’s consistent dedication to football development in Sierra Leone, citing previous contributions, including a substantial donation during the tragic 2021 incident involving Makarie players.

Both Mena Queens FC and Albitaya Queens FC received an equal share of the support, with each team obtaining Twenty-five Thousand Leones (NLe 25,000) and ten footballs.

Sulaiman Sillah Sesay, Chairman of the Bombali District Football Association, commended Babadi Kamara’s gesture, emphasizing its role in complementing the Sierra Leone Football Association’s current administration efforts to elevate the visibility and standards of the game.

Mariatu Haja Conteh, the Skipper of Mena Queens FC, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Babadi Kamara for his unwavering support in advancing female football growth in the North East Region and the country as a whole. The support signifies a vital step towards empowering women’s football in Sierra Leone.
