Sierra Leone skipper, Steven Caulker has confirmed his time with Wigan Athletic is up after four months spell with the club.
Caulker, 31, has spent the past four months with the Latics. He joined the club on a deal until the end of the 2022/23 Championship campaign.
According to FSLNEWS, Caulker confirmed his departure as he states, “I would like to thank @LaticsOfficial for the opportunity to have been a part of something special over the last 4 months.”
“I wish Wigan Athletic and everyone involved with the club, the very best of luck for next season.”
Meanwhile, Wigan have been relegated from the Sky Bet Championship Championship.
The team will now play in League 1 after Huddersfield beat Sheffield United on Thursday 4 May.
Wigan’s relegation means they will be playing in the third tier for the first time in 21 years.
The Sierra Leonean international previously signed a half-year deal with Wigan Athletic, managed by former Ivorian international Kolo Touré
