In a supporting the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone, the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has delivered a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser Station Wagon vehicle to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The vehicle, presented on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, aims to bolster the ACC’s capabilities in monitoring and contributing to the implementation of the Productive Social Safety Nets and Youth Employment (PSSNYE) Project.

The gesture comes on the heels of the successful completion of the Social Safety Nets (SSN) project, with NaCSA now focusing on the implementation of the PSSNYE project.

The PSSNYE initiative aims to benefit one hundred thousand beneficiaries, with a specific focus on expanding cash transfer support to extremely poor households, introducing an integrated package of livelihood services to lift households out of poverty, and providing short and medium-term job opportunities for thousands of young people.

The ACC has played a critical role in preventing corruption and leading the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) component of both the completed SSN and ongoing PSSNYE projects. During the handing-over ceremony, Ambassador Ndomahina emphasized the mutual and result-oriented partnership between NaCSA and ACC.

He highlighted the importance of working together to ensure that the goals set by President Julius Maada Bio are achieved.

Ambassador Ndomahina officially handed over the vehicle, expressing confidence that it would significantly enhance the ACC’s capacity to support the implementation of the PSSNYE Project.

In response, the Acting and Deputy Commissioner of the ACC, Augustine Foday Ngobie, pledged to make appropriate use of the vehicle and reiterated their commitment to strengthening the relationship between the two institutions. Ngobie conveyed the ACC’s gratitude to NaCSA and the World Bank for the timely intervention, emphasizing their dedication to fulfilling their assignments without prejudice or fear.
