Former East End Lions FC and FC Kallon winger Masalakie Bangura met with his Manager who is also a former player of East End Lions and a Coach in the U.S. Didi Abu in the annual Sierra Leone Interstate Soccer Association Tournament in the USA hosted in New York City this year.

Before moving to the United States, Masalakie plays for Thunder Football Club owned by Didi Abu, due to his dribbling skills, and ability to create several chances in every match, FC Kallon secured his service on a loan deal in the 2018/19 season and helped the club to finish as runners up of the league season.

Masalakie played for East End Lions Football Club in the previous Sierra Leone Premier League 2020/21 season scoring a total of three goals, registering several assists and winning Man of the Match awards notably in the first-leg encounter between FC Kallon VS East End Lions FC at the Siaka Steven Stadium.

The sensational winger has made several breakthroughs in his football career since meeting with Didi Abu, Masalakie has also represented Sierra Leone in several categories including the senior side Leone Stars during the AFCON 2021 qualifiers, and played a vital role for the Sierra Leone U-20 side to reach the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone A competition hosted in Guinea 2019.

Didi Abu is among the few football philanthropists who are always ready to give all they could to transform Sierra Leon football, he is presently the Director of grassroots football at East End Lions FC, and has served as Ambassador of the club in the United States of America.
