Leone Stars U-23 squad has today, Saturday 29th October 2022 kicked out of the TotalEnergies U23 AFCON qualifiers by the Young  Chipolpolo of Zambia.

Zambia and Sierra Leone head into this afternoon’s penultimate qualifying round fixture locked at 1-1 from their first leg played on October 22 in Monrovia.

Both sides converted penalties with Alie Conteh slotting Sierra Leone ahead in the 58th minute. Joshua Mutale converted an 88th minute penalty after Golden Mashata was fouled in the area.

 

Zambia grabbed a last-grasp late equalizer away against Sierra Leone in their U23 AFCON qualifiers 2022 second-round first leg qualifier at the SKD complex in Monrovia, Liberia.

With both teams fighting to gain superiority over the other, substitute Andrew Phirl put day light that differentiated the two team which eventually sent Leone Stars of Sierra Leone out of the competition on a 2:1 aggregate scores.

With such result in favour of Zambia, this qualifies them to face either Egypt or Eswatini in the final round of the qualifiers.
