Kamboi Eagles clinched their first victory of the season with a thrilling 3-2 win over Freetonian SLIFA in a Matchweek 8 showdown at the SLFA Academy in Kingtom.

The visitors struck first in the 24th minute through Kwame John Samloko, but Issa S. Kargbo equalized for Freetonian SLIFA in the 32nd minute, leaving both sides level at halftime.

Mohamed Barrie restored Kamboi Eagles’ lead early in the second half with a goal in the 49th minute. However, Banious Bangura responded for the home side in the 65th minute, making it 2-2.

Just when the match seemed destined for a draw, Barrie delivered a stunning 88th-minute winner, securing both a brace for himself and a vital three points for his team.

This defeat marks Freetonian SLIFA’s fifth league loss of the season, leaving them in 15th place, teetering on the edge of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Kamboi Eagles have climbed to 13th place, escaping the danger zone after eight matches. Bai Bureh Warriors now remain the only team yet to record a league win this season.
