The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning is geared up to allocate land parcels to Leone Stars National Team as promised by President Julius Maada Bio.

Before the first match that was cancelled on 30th March, 2021 at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown due to positive test resultS of Covid-19 from the side of the Squirrels of Benin, the President of Republic of Sierra Leone, Brigadier Rtd. Julius Maada Bio promised each Leone Stars player a plot of land and a cheque of One Hundred Million Leones if they qualify for Africa Cup of Nations 2022.

Leone Stars and the Squirrels of Benin match was scheduled to play 14th June, 2021 at General Lansana Conte Stadium in Conakry Guinea. The match was also postponed to 15th June, 2021 due to positive test results of Covid-19 from the side of Leone Stars. The match was finally played on 15th June, 2021 in which Leone Stars defeated the Squirrels of Benin by one goal to nil. This made Leone Stars to qualify for 2022 Africa Cup of Nations that will be hosted in Cameroon.

As the promised made by the President to the players of the National Team, the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning has made it clear that the plots of land to give to the players are ready. Each player from the team will be receiving a parcel of land and a cheque of One Hundred Million Leones as a promised made by President Julius Maada Bio.
