Sao Tome draws with Sierra Leone 2- 2  in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.

The two teams created chances but Sao Tome converted  their early lead in the 43rd minute of play.

As Sao Tome opened the scoring, Sierra Leone replied with Mustapha Bundu’s goal in the 47th minute of play to level the scores.

Sao Tome replied with a second goal in the 59th minute of play and Sierra Leone’s Forward Abu Komeh scored the equaliser for Leone Stars in the 77th minute of Play.

Sierra Leone was at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon last year, and today they play their third game with a hope to make the next edition in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles currently top the AFCON qualifier Group A standings with 6 points from two games, while Guinea-Bissau sits in second position with 4 points from the same number of games, Sierra Leone (third position with 2 point) and Sao Tome and Principe (fourth position with one point).
