The Sierra Leone National Senior Team Stars today defeated Diamond Stars by 1-0 in a warm up encounter at the Koidu Town field in Kono.

The Kono match itself brought together a good number of dignitaries from across the country including Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh who was honoured with the kick-off.

On the pitch of play, the Diamond Boys kept a clean sheet in the first half but could not hold on to the weight when FC Kallon’s Mahmoud Fofanah converted a goal from the penalty spot in the 85th minute, an advantage that was enough to bring winning smiles to the Leone Stars Home Base side.

Meanwhile, the Leone Stars delegation will return to Freetown on Sunday, a day each player will go back to their respective clubs ahead of the resumption of the Sierra Leone Premier League 2020/21 season.
