One of Sierra Leone’s top betting companies, Mercury International has announced that the Sierra Leone vs São Tomé and Principé match has been removed from their odds.
The betting company said the inclusion of the match was an error on the part of their service providers who compiled their fixtures.
“The match was immediately disabled and voided even before the fixtures were released,” the company announced.
They added that non of their customers has been and will be able to bet on the match.
Mercury said the cancellation of the odd is part of their company policy not to include Leone Stars and local club matches as part of their odds.
The Sierra Leone National team will face São Tomé and Principé today evening at an African Cup of Nations (AfCON) Qualifiers in Agadir, Morocco. Leone Stars have a single point from two games and sit in third position three shy of second place occupied by Guinea-Bissau.
Nigeria leads the group with six points while São Tomé are bottom of the table with no point.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the tournament next in Ivory Coast.
