Mighty Blackpool’s Winger, Santigie ‘Santos’ Sesay is hopeful that his team will win the League this campaign after defeating rivals Ports Authority in stoppage time.

In an exclusive interview with Sierraloaded, the winger said his team still has chances to win this season’s title despite being in third place and 11 points behind first place Bo Rangers.

First place and defending champions, Bo Rangers were held to a goalless draw by Freetonians SLIFA at Trade Centre Field much to the heroics of host teenage midfielder, Alpha Kabia.

“It’s a good result for us (Mighty Blackpool) and I’m optimistic that we will top the table and eventually winning the title,” Santos reacted to the Bo Rangers result.

Santos provided two assists in the match. His first assist came in the first 10 minutes of play after setting up striker Ron Gandi Williams. Santos also assisted Mohamed Forbie in the 92nd minute for the Tis Tas Boys to clinch all three points.

“I feel so happy to have provided these two assists in the match because my team was struggling,” the winger said.

He said that their poor form in previous matches is normal.

“In football you won’t always win but I believe that we are back on track with this winning,” he said.

The winger said he is happy to see the fans and encouraged them to keep the faith as they look to continue their charge for the title.

The Tis-Tas Boys have won the League 11 times since its formation in 1967. However, the team has failed to win a silverware since 2001 when they last won it.

Bo Rangers won the League last season and became only the second team outside Freetown to enjoy silverware.

Diamond Stars of Kono won the League twice in the 2011-12 season and 2012-13 season.
