Sierra Leone’s Junior swimming team has arrived in Accra, Ghana to participate in the 3rd Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Junior Swimming

The championships will commence on 18th August instant and is set to be hosted at the Legon University of Ghana, Swimming Pool.

All five of them are debutants in the swimming stage, and they will be hoping to represent the country in the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Competition in Netanya, Israel, in September this year.

Below are names of  the swimming Delegation members in Ghana

• Gibrilla Kanu Bamba – Coach/Team Leader
• Moses Yongai – Team Captain
• Musa Baimba Sannoh – Athlete
• Peter Elijah Bewie – Athlete
• Elizabeth Yaba Kamara – Athlete (F)
• Anaya Susan Folasade M’Cormack-Hale – Athlete (F)

Meanwhile, The Ghana Swimming Association is hosting the 3rd Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Junior Swimming and Open Water Championship at University of Ghana, Sports Directorate.

According to General Secretary of the Ghana Swimming Association, Mr. Mohammed Kassim the event is from 18th to 20th August, 2023, at 9am – 12noon (morning session) and 3pm – 6pm (evening session) each day.

The opening ceremony of the programme is scheduled for 18th August, 2023 at 3pm at the same venue and  Twenty-Two (22) West and Central African countries including Ghana are expected to participate.
