The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has taken another decisive step in building grassroots football capacity with the successful conclusion of its three-week CAF D Diploma Coaching Course at the SLFA Headquarters.
Forty aspiring coaches underwent 60 hours of intensive training, combining classroom instruction with practical sessions and a one-week internship at Sierra Leone Premier League clubs. The initiative, led by SLFA Technical Director John Keister, provided participants with exposure to modern coaching methodologies, leadership principles, and professional ethics.
Beyond the immediate achievement, the programme signals SLFA’s broader vision under President Babadi Kamara: creating a structured pathway for coaches to progress through CAF’s certification levels. With the CAF C Diploma Second Module set to begin next week and the CAF B Diploma scheduled for October, the Association is steadily expanding opportunities for Sierra Leonean coaches to gain internationally recognised qualifications.
By investing in coaching education, SLFA aims to ensure that grassroots players across the country benefit from well-trained mentors capable of nurturing talent from the community level to the national stage.
The Association congratulated the graduates and reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining coaching development programmes that will ultimately strengthen Sierra Leone’s football ecosystem.
