The Chairman of Freetonians SLIFA, Alimamy Kuraish Conteh has resigned from his position following an appointment by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).

Conteh has been appointed as the SLFA Youth Football Coordinator.

“The decision was taken due to my current position as SLFA Youth Football Coordinator,” Conteh said in a resignation letter to the club.

He added that because of his new job, he will not be able his function properly as Chairman of the premier league club.

“It is prudent for another person to work in my capacity for the development of SLIFA,” he stated.

Conteh noted that he enjoyed his spell at the club and confessed that the atmosphere was “wonderful” and pleaded that his resignation be accepted by the club’s management in good faith.

He ended by promising that he will be available to render assistance within his new capacity needed by the club in the future.

SLIFA is believed to have one of the youngest teams in the league. Some fans believe that Conteh has been a focal staff in recruitment of young talented players especially in his Kissy locale.

The club currently occupies 10th position in the league with 21 points. They are four points above the drop zone and will be facing new boys, Real Republicans on Wednesday at Angola Playing Field.
