Sierra Leone’s Former Minister of Defence and Internal Affairs, Major Rt. Palo Conteh has said that he is willing to put his past and dark days behind to serve the country and party in any position accorded him.
Conteh said this on Monday while expressing gratitude to President Julius Maada Bio who granted him a presidential pardon from prison on Friday, January 1st 2021.
According to the former Minister, He has put away all thoughts and emotions about the suffering he has passed through in the hands of the SLPP government and is ready to work together with the government and people of Sierra Leone to make the country a better place.

As a Christian, Palo Conteh said He doesn’t believe in revenge and as such, He would continue to live at peace with all men and allow God to fight His battle.
“For me it was good to be home to my family and friends and hope that I will be able to work for my people. I am readily available and passionately sound to deliver positive results in any capacity I am in because that is who I am and this is not the first time I have been through difficult times.”, he said.
Speaking on his health, Palo Conteh said being out of prison has afforded him the opportunity to run medical checks and also exercise regularly. He believes that mentally and physically he is capable of performing at the highest level and expressed optimism of a healthy life in the coming years.
Those found guilty should refund what they stole in order to continue the rapid development the government has begun
