The June 24 general elections results showed a large number of female Members of parliament with 41 female MPs elected to represent constituencies across the country. A commentator on Social media referred to it as the largest women’s caucus in the history of Sierra Leone’s Parliament and he prays that they focus on the real issues affecting women and not party agendas.

Most of the female MPs are from the provinces. There are 4 from Bo, 2 from Bombali, 2 from Bonth, 4 from Kailahun, 2 from Kambia, 1 from Kerene, 4 from Kenema, 1 from Koinadugu, 3 from Kono, 2 from Moyamba, 3 from Port Loko, 2 from Pujehun, 3 from Tonkolili, 3 from Western Rural and 5 from Western Urban.
