The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Appeal Committee has dismissed a petition challenging the conduct and outcome of the North-West Region Football Elections held on 12th July 2025 in Port Loko City, citing lack of jurisdiction.

According to an official press release issued on 30th July 2025, the petition was filed by individuals claiming to be Chairmen of the Karene and Kambia District Football Associations, alleging irregularities related to the legitimacy of electoral organisers, delegate selection, and candidate eligibility.

The Appeal Committee convened a formal hearing on 27th July 2025 after notifying all involved parties on 25th July. Both sides appeared with legal representation and were given the opportunity to present and defend their positions.

After extensive deliberation, the Committee ruled by majority consensus that:

  1. The Appeal Committee lacks the legal jurisdiction to adjudicate electoral disputes of this nature under SLFA’s governing framework.

  2. Such matters should be properly directed to either the Electoral Committee or the Election Appeals Committee, as stipulated in the SLFA Constitution and regulations.

  3. The petitioners are advised to seek redress before the appropriate SLFA electoral bodies.

The Committee further stated that a comprehensive report detailing its findings and rationale will be released within 14 days of the decision.
