Senior officials from Sierra Leone and representatives of the Sierra Leonean community in Liberia convened at the Sierra Leone-Liberia border to tackle cross-border security challenges, including drug trafficking.

The high-level meeting, organized by the Government of Sierra Leone, brought together key figures, including the Head of the Office of National Security, the Chief of Staff of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces, the Sierra Leonean Ambassador to Liberia, the Commissioner of the National Revenue Authority, the Paramount Chief, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, and the Director General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

Officials emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening border security, enhancing inter-agency cooperation, and working closely with the Sierra Leonean diaspora in Liberia to ensure peace, safety, and the fight against illicit drug activities.
