Hon. Minister Dr. Isata Mahoi Minister of Gender and Children Affairs’ convened a high-level dialogue with representatives from GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Ministry of Health to advance equitable vaccine access for children and adolescents across Sierra Leone.
The meeting focused on gender-responsive strategies to address barriers to immunisation, combat misinformation, and promote inclusive healthcare delivery. Dr. Mahoi reaffirmed the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs’ (MoGCA) commitment to multi-sectoral collaboration, community awareness, and active male involvement in health promotion.
“We must create healthy spaces for adolescents through educational discussions, virtual learning, and skills development,” she emphasised.
GAVI and Ministry of Health partners echoed the call for innovation, coordination, and district-level support to ensure that no child is left behind. The session concluded with a symbolic group photo, marking a renewed commitment to strengthening healthcare systems and protecting future generations.
