The Office of the President, State House, opened the Ministry of Sports and National Sports Authority (NSA) organized Inter-MDA Football Gala with a commanding 4–1 victory over the Bank of Sierra Leone on Monday, 20 October 2025, at the National Stadium Practice Field.
Team captain Yusuf Keketoma Sandi expressed confidence after the win, stating, “State House is in this competition to win the finals, and we will approach every match with the seriousness it deserves.”
The Gala brings together teams from various government institutions in a friendly football tournament that takes colleagues out of their office roles and fosters cooperation on the pitch.
The tournament will include scheduled matches, short training sessions, and social activities designed to encourage participation, inclusivity, and enjoyment.
In an earlier fixture, the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) defeated the Ministry of Fisheries 4–2 in an exciting encounter.
Organizers say the Gala also highlights how sport and recreation can serve as low-cost, high-impact tools for public sector reform and employee engagement.
