The Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Southern Regional Office, has confirmed it is monitoring a tragic case involving the alleged murder of a female police officer, Sub-Inspector Magdalene Fatu Conteh, at her residence in Bo City.
Preliminary information released by the Ministry indicates that the deceased was allegedly stabbed by her 16-year-old grandson, Shadrach David Sam.
According to the Ministry’s field report, Sub-Inspector Conteh, who was attached to the Police Hospital at Bo East Division, was discovered dead at her residence in C-Line, New Police Barracks, Bo.
Early reports suggest the deceased was discovered after allegedly being kept in the house for approximately three days.
The Ministry noted that during this period, the suspect reportedly informed neighbors and relatives that the victim had traveled to Pujehun for a workshop.
The Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs expressed deep concern over the alleged murder and stated that the Sierra Leone Police are actively investigating the matter.
The Ministry said it will continue to follow the police investigation closely as it progresses and psychosocial support will be made available to the family of the deceased.
The Ministry extended its “deepest condolences to the family, colleagues, and all affected by this tragic incident” and committed to providing necessary support as the police investigation continues.
The Ministry awaits the release of official details from the Sierra Leone Police before undertaking further engagements.
