The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has departed Freetown for Rabat, Morocco, where he will attend the 2025 CAF Awards as a special guest.

According to the SLFA, Kamara received a personal invitation from CAF President Patrice Motsepe in recognition of his impactful leadership during his first 100 days in office. He will join the 54 heads of CAF member associations for their third meeting this year to deliberate on key strategies for advancing football development across the continent.

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone’s U-20 forward, Momoh Kamara, has been shortlisted for the 2025 CAF Young Player of the Year award. His nomination follows an impressive run at the U-20 African Tournament in Egypt, where he scored four goals and helped the Shooting Stars reach the knockout stages before a narrow defeat to Morocco.
