Six men appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1, facing charges of conspiracy, burglary, larceny, and receiving stolen property.

The accused Gbessay Swaray, Foday Sallu, Martin Sallu, Joseph Gekamjie Kamara alias Shine, John Bangalie alias Boika, and Foday Hassan were arraigned following a series of break-ins in Bo Town and Waterloo.

Prosecutors allege that on Thursday, 28th August 2025, the first five accused conspired with unknown individuals to break into the homes of Kaiker and Lucy Koker at Hancil Road, Bo Town. From Kaiker Koker’s residence, items worth Le 70,800, including two LG Smart Plasma televisions, a projector, solar LED lights, and a Lenovo laptop, were reportedly stolen. At Lucy Koker’s home, property valued at Le 63,150 including laptops, kitchen appliances, assorted dishes, a Bluetooth speaker, and an iPad was allegedly taken.

In a separate incident on Saturday, 6th September 2025, Foday Hassan allegedly received stolen goods a solar LED light and a Lenovo laptop valued at Le 15,600 from co-accused Martin Sallu, knowing them to be stolen.

When the charges were read and explained, the defendants did not enter a plea. Prosecutor C.S.P. Ziza presented the case docket, while counsels P.S. Vandy and A.B. Bangura represented all six accused. Magistrate Jah remanded the men to the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown pending trial, and the matter has been adjourned to 1st December 2025.
