President Julius Maada Bio has raised grave concerns over what he described as a major security lapse at the Presidential Lodge, following an incident in which an individual allegedly stole rice after bypassing all security barriers and gaining access to the storage area.
Addressing security personnel, the President said the breach demonstrated that some officers were not fully performing their duties.
He noted that, in some countries, those responsible for such failures would resign or even consider taking their own lives out of shame.
“As we say thank you for your service, we must also point out where things have gone wrong,” President Bio emphasized.
He further urged security officers to thoroughly understand every possible avenue of approach to the premises and ensure they remain fully secured around the clock.
