The All People’s Congress (APC) has called on its members and supporters to embrace peace, reconciliation and unity as the party enters the New Year, amid ongoing internal consultations ahead of key political activities.

In a New Year message issued on January 1, 2026, the Acting National Chairman of the APC, Amb. Alhaji Dr. Osman Foday Yansaneh, extended greetings to party members and supporters across the country, describing the New Year as a time for reflection, understanding and renewed commitment to the APC family.

This is a season to reflect, to understand one another better, and to renew our shared commitments as one APC family,” Yansaneh said in the statement released from the party’s headquarters.

Acknowledging past disagreements within the party, the Acting Chairman urged members to forgive one another and place the interest of the APC above personal differences, particularly as the party moves toward its forthcoming conventions.

We may have walked through moments of disagreement, but this New Year calls us to peace, reconciliation, and genuine love,” he stated, adding that unity remains critical to rebuilding trust and strengthening the party.

Yansaneh also appealed to all factions within the APC to dissolve internal camps and redirect their loyalty and energy toward building what he described as a “formidable party” capable of securing victory in the 2028 elections.

He stressed that patience, humility and mutual respect among party members would help heal old wounds and reposition the APC for national service. According to the statement, the National Executive of the party has agreed to meet with senior party figures, including Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, Alhaji Chief Sam Sumana and all flagbearer aspirants, as part of efforts to consolidate unity within the party.

The Acting Chairman concluded by invoking a popular Sierra Leonean saying, “No bad road nor dae wey nor get end,” to underscore his message of hope and perseverance, and wished members a peaceful New Year guided by unity and love.
