Rokel Commercial Bank has renewed its long-standing partnership with the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone, during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Ezekiel Duramany-Lakkoh, at the university’s campus in Freetown on Friday, 9th January 2026.

Speaking during the visit, the Head of Public Relations at Rokel Commercial Bank, Mr. Aruna Dumbuya, said the engagement was aimed at appreciating Professor Duramany-Lakkoh and the university community for the enduring relationship between the bank and IPAM. He described the partnership as historic and mutually beneficial, assuring the university of the bank’s continued support.

Mr. Dumbuya noted that as Sierra Leone’s number one bank, Rokel Commercial Bank remains committed to supporting institutions that contribute to national development, in line with its corporate mandate to complement government efforts. He reaffirmed the bank’s willingness to support IPAM “in every possible way,” particularly in initiatives that promote student development and national interest.

During the visit, Mr. Dumbuya also introduced the bank’s new Marketing Manager, Mrs. Micheala Dora Macauley, whom he said would build on the achievements of her predecessor and further strengthen the relationship between the bank and the university. He pledged that the bank would continue to support student-focused initiatives and activities within IPAM.

He further highlighted that Rokel Commercial Bank has consistently prioritised student development at IPAM, citing the refurbishment of the IPAM canteen and the bank’s support to various student bodies in executing their programmes and activities.

In her remarks, the newly appointed Marketing Manager, Mrs. Micheala Dora Macauley, described IPAM as her alma mater and expressed pride in working with an institution that played a key role in her professional development. She pledged to do everything possible to sustain and deepen the cordial relationship between Rokel Commercial Bank and IPAM.

Mrs. Macauley acknowledged that the university has also significantly contributed to the growth of Rokel Commercial Bank, noting the strong student and staff patronage of the bank’s services. She assured the university of an open-door policy, stressing that under her leadership, the marketing department would remain responsive and supportive of IPAM-related initiatives.

Responding, Professor Ezekiel Duramany-Lakkoh commended Rokel Commercial Bank, describing it as one of the best banks in the country in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He encouraged the bank to further identify with the university and increase its investments on campus to enhance its visibility.

Professor Duramany-Lakkoh also highlighted IPAM’s contributions to the bank, revealing that over 5,000 students are currently registered with Rokel Commercial Bank. He further praised the Managing Director of Rokel Commercial Bank for his consistent availability to support the university, particularly through teaching engagements and guest lectures, which he said have greatly benefited students and staff.

The meeting concluded with mutual assurances from both Rokel Commercial Bank and IPAM to continue strengthening their collaboration and sustaining the cordial relationship that has existed between the two institutions over the years.
