His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to attend the highly anticipated World Governments Summit, scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 February 2026.
The Summit, which is themed ‘‘Shaping Future Governments,” will bring together global leaders, experts, and innovators to explore the role of technology and innovation in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. This year’s event will focus on empowering governments to leverage cutting-edge solutions to meet the evolving needs of their populations.
President Bio’s invitation to the Summit was extended by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and highlights Sierra Leone’s growing prominence in international governance discussions. During his visit, President Bio is set to engage in a series of high-level bilateral meetings with fellow heads of state, as well as participate in a plenary session alongside other global leaders.
The President’s participation is expected to underscore Sierra Leone’s impressive progress in governance, economic growth, and technological advancements under his leadership. His presence at the Summit reaffirms the country’s commitment to embracing innovation as a cornerstone of future governance strategies.
As one of the many distinguished heads of state attending, President Bio’s involvement in the Summit will also serve as an opportunity to strengthen Sierra Leone’s international relations, particularly with countries in the Middle East and beyond.
The World Governments Summit is regarded as one of the most important global forums for fostering collaboration between nations on governance, public policy, and sustainable development.
