Sierra Leonean female footballer Kumba Zainab Brima is currently undergoing trials with Paris Saint-Germain Féminines in France, representing a major milestone for Sierra Leone football.
The development, confirmed by Fella Sport Management and Global Soccer Management SL, marks what many are describing as a massive opportunity and a proud moment for women’s football in the West African nation.
According to management sources, Brima previously completed an internship with PSG Féminines in December 2025, and her progress continues to be monitored by the club. Beyond PSG, several other top clubs around the world are reportedly making inquiries and establishing contacts regarding the Sierra Leonean player.
Brima’s European football journey includes trials with AIK Females in Sweden and Stade de Reims Females in France in 2024, before she joined FC Riga in Latvia.
Her management team has stated that the right decision will be made when the appropriate move arrives for Brima, adding that many Sierra Leonean football followers have expressed gratitude and urged the management to provide female players from the country with opportunities comparable to those accorded to players from other nations.
In a statement addressing the timing of the announcement, the management noted that its policy, developed in collaboration with international partners, typically discourages publishing news and photographs of players during trials. The management explained that such publicity can create pressure and unease for players, with social media distractions potentially affecting their focus.
According to the statement, “A worthy news is when a player successfully passes trials and sign a professional contract—then it is a news that is worth to share and celebrate.”
The decision to publish Brima’s trial information was made in response to public inquiries and requests from Sierra Leoneans urging greater visibility and opportunities for the country’s female footballers.
The management has pledged that more Sierra Leonean female footballers will receive opportunities through their network, stating that several players have already signed professional contracts and will soon be joining their clubs from Sierra Leone.
Fella Sport Management and Global Soccer Management SL extended thanks to Aleksandrs Cekulajevs and MNG Sports Agency for their collaboration in facilitating these opportunities.
