First Lady Fatima Maada Bio on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, received a delegation from Marrah Babes, a women’s organisation within the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), during a courtesy visit to her Goderich office in Freetown.

The visit came days after the official launch of the organisation at the Approved School Field in the eastern part of the capital.

According to the First Lady, discussions during the meeting centred on strengthening solidarity among women and promoting their collective contribution to the growth and development of the ruling party.

Mrs Bio described the engagement as an opportunity to encourage women to support one another and work together in advancing shared goals within the SLPP.

The delegation, drawn from a cross-section of the organisation, paid the visit as part of efforts to engage party stakeholders following the recent launch of Marrah Babes.

The First Lady emphasised the importance of unity, cooperation, and active participation by women in political and social development, noting that women have a vital role to play in strengthening political institutions and promoting progress within the party.

The meeting also highlighted the growing involvement of women’s groups in party activities and their efforts to foster greater participation and collaboration among female members of the SLPP.

Marrah Babes was officially launched a few days ago at the Approved School Field in eastern Freetown and has since begun engaging key stakeholders within the party as part of its organisational activities.
