The 2026 SLFA National Division One Playoffs officially commence today, Wednesday, 8 July, at the Port Loko Mini Stadium, with ten clubs vying for two promotion slots to the Leone Rock Premier League.

The tournament, which brings together teams from across the country, follows a formal draw that placed participating clubs into their respective groups. All matches will be staged at the Port Loko Mini Stadium, with the opening fixtures scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively.

The playoffs mark a critical juncture in the domestic football calendar, as clubs battle not only for promotion but also for the distinction of competing among Sierra Leone’s elite.

The stakes are particularly high this season following the reduction of the top-flight league to 16 clubs, which has increased the intensity of the competition for the two available places.

The SLFA has called on football enthusiasts to turn out in large numbers to support their teams, urging participating clubs to demonstrate passion, discipline, and fair play throughout the tournament.

The Association has also extended its best wishes to all competitors as the journey towards Premier League promotion officially gets underway.

The playoffs are expected to showcase emerging football talent and provide thrilling encounters as teams strive to secure their place in the country’s highest level of domestic football.
