WESOFOD-SL has, on Saturday, 5th September 2026, successfully rolled out refresher intergenerational dialogue sessions in Pujehun District. The sessions brought together youths from mentorship networks, community leaders, and district stakeholders.
The primary purpose of the activity was to review progress since last year’s training: what has been achieved, what remains outstanding, and how stakeholders can be reminded of the commitments they made. Participants examined the challenges encountered, explored practical ways to address them, and identified available opportunities within the communities that young people can leverage to strengthen and expand their mentorship networks.
An open experience-sharing segment allowed participants to:
Assess the existing relationship between youths and local governance structures
Identify key challenges affecting youth development and engagement
Suggest concrete opportunities for collaboration between youth networks, communities, and district authorities
The dialogue component featured:
Presentation of findings from recent engagement; follow-up on specific commitments made during last year’s intergenerational engagement
Participants worked in groups to develop a practical roadmap for strengthening partnerships, promoting youth empowerment, and enhancing community development initiatives.
Each group was guided to:
1. Identify 2–3 priority issues in their community that currently affect the development of young people
2. Identify the local resources needed to address those issues
3. Name the main actors / responsible persons
4. Set a realistic timeline
5. Define the expected results
The sessions concluded with a clear focus on accountability, renewed commitment, and actionable next steps that youth mentorship networks and local stakeholders can pursue together to advance youth empowerment and community development in Pujehun.
