The Central One Football Association (COFA) and representatives of participating communities have reaffirmed their commitment to peace, non-violence, and sportsmanship following an unfortunate incident on Sunday, 13 September 2026, along the Kroo Town Road axis during the ongoing COFA Inter-Community Champions League.
COFA met with representatives of participating communities on Monday, 14 September 2026, at the Parade Grounds to address the incident and strengthen their collective commitment to a peaceful, disciplined, and fair competition.
Following the discussions, the meeting reaffirmed COFA and the Organising Committee’s commitment to peace, unity, and a violence-free competition throughout the Central One region.
COFA also strongly condemned the incident and rejected all forms of violence in and around football activities.
The Association and community representatives also made a joint commitment to maintain peace and non-violence throughout the competition, urging players, supporters, communities, and other stakeholders to promote respect, discipline, and sportsmanship at every match.
COFA assured the public and football fans that it would uphold a non-violent, fair, and disciplined competition throughout the 2026 season.
The Association and community representatives concluded with a firm appeal: “SAY NO TO VIOLENCE.”
Representatives of Foulah Town, Fourah Bay, Congo Town, Fire Burn, Kroo Bay, and Kossoh Town endorsed the communiqué.
