Leone Stars Head Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa has named a 25-man squad for Sierra Leone’s opening matches in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign against Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea.
The squad, announced by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and seven forwards as Gomes Da Rosa begins preparations for the qualifiers.
Goalkeepers Mamadou Ullah, Francis Koroma and Ibrahim Sesay have been selected, while the defensive options include Abdulai Juma Bah, Emmanuel Samadia, Alpha Turay, Abdul Jarju Kabia, Sallieu Tarawallie, MJ Kamson-Kamara, Osman Kakay and Mohamed Fofanah.
The midfield features Saidu Fofanah, Saidu Bah Kamara, Tyrese Fornah, Azeem Kerr Abdulai, Mustapha Hindolo, Momoh I. Kamara and Sulay Kaikai.
In attack, Gomes Da Rosa has named Ra’ees Bangura-Williams, Santigie Yusuf Sesay, Alhassan Koroma, Daniel Kanu, Joshua A. Koroma, Idris Kanu and Alie Conteh.
Sierra Leone will open their Group E campaign against Zimbabwe on September 24 before travelling to face Equatorial Guinea on September 28. CAF has confirmed that the opening two rounds of the qualifiers will be played between September 24 and October 6, 2026.
Gomes Da Rosa had earlier opened a home-based training camp to assess locally based players ahead of the September qualifiers, as Leone Stars prepare for their bid to reach the 2027 continental tournament.
The 2027 AFCON finals will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.
