Jagaban Pledges to Prioritise Private-Sector Investment, Movement Spokesman Says
Jagaban has identified increased private-sector investment as a key priority of his presidential campaign, according to Saidu Gibril Buzzom Kamara, national spokesman of the Jagaban Movement.
Kamara made the remarks during an interview with Truth Media on Tuesday, Nov. 3, while outlining the core principles and policy priorities underpinning Jagaban’s campaign.
He said the proposed approach recognises the role of private businesses in economic growth, particularly amid concerns over companies closing operations and investors withdrawing from the country.
According to Kamara, some businesses, including major mining companies, have faced operational difficulties linked to government policies and taxation, making it necessary to review the conditions under which businesses operate.
He explained that Jagaban’s proposed private-sector investment agenda seeks to encourage both domestic and foreign investors to establish and expand businesses in the country.
Kamara also stressed that economic development requires broader policy interventions beyond individual financial assistance, including measures that would improve access to microcredit and address structural challenges affecting the economy.
He said private-sector investment is one of the six pillars of Jagaban’s campaign agenda, adding that the aspirant intends to address economic challenges through policies targeting different sectors.
Kamara’s remarks formed part of his broader explanation of the six pillars, although he had not outlined all six in the portion of the interview provided.
