Sierra Leone’s Education Minister, Conrad Sackey has announced the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results today Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

The BECE, overseen by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is taken by third-year Junior High School students . This examination serves dual purposes: determining eligibility for senior secondary education and certifying junior secondary education completion.

Earlier in July, a total of 129,838 pupils including, 62,788 males and 67,050 females, from 1,984 schools enrolled for the 2025 BECE in Sierra Leone.

While there might be a slight delay at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) in dispatching the results to individual schools, candidates can promptly access their scores online or via the MBSSE SMS result checker.

How to Check 2025 BECE Results Online

Meanwhile, below is an easy step-by-step guide on how candidates can check for their 2025 BECE results:

  • ▪️Secondly, enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. (This is your 7-Digit center number followed by your 3-digit candidate number, e.g. 4123456789).
  • ▪️Thirdly, enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year, e.g. 2025.
  • ▪️Fourthly, select the Type of Examination, e.g., May/June.
  • ▪️Fifthly, enter the Scratch Card (E-pin) Number.
  • ▪️Lastly, click Submit and wait for the results window to open.

NOTE: Always input an email address so that the result will be forwarded to that email for printing.
