Alhaji Amadu Bah, famously known as Boss LA, the newly appointed Peace Ambassador for Sierra Leone, embarked on a significant visit to the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) headquarters on Campbell Street, Freetown, on Friday, February 26, 2024.

This visit marked a pivotal moment as Boss LA sought to mend fences and foster collaboration with the media fraternity, acknowledging their pivotal role in both his personal journey and the broader societal landscape.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to engage with SLAJ leadership, Boss LA underscored the indispensable support rendered by the media in propelling his music career to prominence. Recognizing the symbiotic relationship between his new mandate as Peace Ambassador and the journalistic community, he earnestly appealed for their unwavering support, emphasizing the shared responsibility entrusted upon them by President Julius Maada Bio.

In a poignant moment of reflection and contrition, Boss LA extended a heartfelt apology to esteemed journalist Asmaa James, as well as her family, the women of Sierra Leone, and the media at large, for his regrettable outburst directed at James in 2021. Addressing the media cameras, Boss LA humbly retracted his previous statements, expressing remorse for the impulsive nature of his actions and pleading for forgiveness.

He stated, “I consider this platform appropriate to extend my sincere apology to my sister Asmaa James and her family. I deeply regret every hurtful statement I made towards you. I cannot justify my behavior, as I acted impulsively out of anger without fully understanding my emotions at the time. I take full responsibility for my actions and express genuine remorse for the pain I caused. Asmaa, I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Additionally, I extend my apologies to all the women of Sierra Leone and to the journalists present. I earnestly request your forgiveness and hope you can find it in your hearts to accept my apology.”
