President Julius Maada Bio has approved that Mr. Denis Nelson-Streeter, who died on the 28th March 2024 is accorded civic funeral rites.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has informed the Chief Administrator of Freetown City Councill that they will be grateful if the civic funeral is held on Friday, 26th April, 2024.

In view of the above, I request they requested the Chief Administrator to liaise with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs to facilitate the civic funeral arrangements.

 

Streeter was a talented visionary storyteller and one of the few who was fighting to keep the culture of storytelling in Sierra Leone. He is known for famous movies like Aminata (2008), The Next President (2013) and Guardian of the Throne (2014).

Streeter is also known for his incredible wit, sense of humor, and baritone bass voice. He will be remembered for his immense contributions in educating and entertaining the younger generation through storytelling and drama.

Before his death, he was also Chief Executive Officer of Ad Media, a local advertising agency in Sierra Leone.
