Lawyer Abu Bakarr Turay, widely recognized as Kabaka, the owner of Kabaka Multimedia Entertainment, has announced the indefinite postponement of the annual Pan-African event, EcoFest, citing the unavailability of a suitable large-capacity venue.
Kabaka made this revelation in a Facebook live video on Saturday 18th November 2023, after a series of concerns from the public about the festival for this year.
He revealed that significant losses were obtained last year in his zest for continuity which prompted him to organize the festival at the Sierra Leone Football Association Academy’s pitch at Kingtom after the large capacity Siaka Steven Stadium was declared out of commission due to ongoing renovation.
He continued by outlining his struggles since conceiving the vision of an improved entertainment industry through collective sacrifice, beginning with the start of his label five years ago. He also mentioned importing trending talents to perform on the same stages as Sierra Leonean entertainers, as a tactic that should have served as springboards for their careers across the continent.
He also speaks against the consistent lack of support, coupled with negative back channeling, improperly constituted policies & supervisory bodies, and administering based on a limited understanding of the business side of the industry.
He concluded that the readiness of the entertainers themselves is questionable, given their propensity to allow politics and political issues to seep into their conduct and work.

There’s a lot of space for that or is’t that the festival would only be in Freetown what about the provinces
It’s well
