Sierra Leone’s Entertainment Ambassador, Kao Denero has recently announced plans for a new streaming initiative aimed at enhancing the growth of Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry.

Using his social media platforms, Kao Denero highlighted the ongoing efforts to establish a monetized streaming system in collaboration with his contacts in the United States.

“Currently, I am in the process of setting up a revenue-driven streaming system with my associates in the US,” Denero shared.

Kao Denero pointed out the challenges faced by Sierra Leone’s artists on platforms like YouTube. Due to limited traffic from advertisers and specific bank requirements set by YouTube, many artists find it difficult to monetize their content.

He further disclosed plans from his office to set up a US-based platform that will collect royalties from YouTube and other streaming platforms for all registered Sierra Leonean artists. “Our aim is to develop a platform rooted in the US to manage YouTube and streaming royalties for our registered talents,” Kao Denero stated.

In a rallying call to the nation, Kao Denero emphasized the significance of supporting local artists. He encouraged all Sierra Leoneans to actively follow and engage with the pages of prominent Sierra Leonean artists across streaming platforms like YouTube and Spotify. He believes that such support can significantly boost revenue for both the industry and the government.

“Imagine the potential impact if every Sierra Leonean made an effort to support our artists on all streaming platforms. This could revolutionize our industry’s earnings and provide much-needed funds to our government,” Kao Denero concluded.
