The Union of Musicians All Stars Sierra Leone has announced it is undergoing an institutional reform process, with the Elders Council currently administering the affairs of the Union during this transition period.
According to a statement from the Elders Council, Mr. Milton Koker, popularly known as Colabo, has resigned from his position as President of the Union. The Council described his resignation as voluntary and graceful, noting that Colabo has cooperated fully with the reform process aimed at establishing transparent and democratic leadership structures.
Under the Union’s constitution, former presidents automatically qualify to serve as members of the Elders Council. Colabo now assumes a position within that body, where he will contribute to oversight and institutional guidance during the transition.
On February 6, 2026, the Elders Council held consultations with Grand Patrons and general membership regarding a structured reform process. Following these talks, a Position Paper outlining the reform agenda was circulated among members. A clear majority of members endorsed the document, granting the Elders Council the mandate to supervise the reform process.
The Elders Council advised that all official communication and dealings with the Union should be directed to +23279645646, +23299578448, or [email protected].
A Reform Committee, which will also function as an Interim Executive, will be formally announced in due course.
This body will manage the transition and facilitate the establishment of a democratically elected leadership. Until then, the Elders Council will continue to provide oversight and administrative supervision.
