Sierra Leonean-born, London-based fashion journalist, stylist, and creative director, IB Kamara, took the spotlight at the Super Bowl as the designer of the breathtaking dress worn by Usher during his halftime performance.

Currently serving as the artistic director of Off White, Kamara’s creative genius took center stage as he replaced the late Virgil Abloh at the prestigious fashion label.

Known for collaborating with global celebrities and renowned brands such as Rihanna, Fendi, and Dior, Kamara has a remarkable track record in the fashion industry. His portfolio includes dressing Beyoncé in a custom red jumpsuit for her Renaissance tour, showcasing his ability to make a mark on primetime performances.

In a recent interview with GQ, Kamara disclosed the organic collaboration between Usher and the Off-White label, expressing that they felt like a natural brand to work with. This latest triumph solidifies Kamara’s influence in the industry.

Born in Sierra Leone in 1990, Kamara has not only made waves as a stylist but also serves as the editor of Dazed magazine since January 2021. His creative prowess was recognized when a unique dress he styled, called “A Dress of Hope,” was chosen to represent 2020 in the Fashion Museum, Bath’s Dress of the Year collection.

Following the untimely passing of Off-White’s founder, Virgil Abloh, Kamara assumes the role of image and art director for the iconic label. In this new capacity, he will steer the vision and direction of Off-White, showcasing his significant influence and favoritism from Abloh himself.
