Executive Director of the Mama-Pikin Foundation, Dr Fatu Forna has congratulated the first cohort of locally-trained obstetrician-gynaecologists at the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (Cottage).
All eight enrolled students were able to graduate in the maiden course this October resulting in a 100 percent pass rate.
The doctors joined the Specialist Cadre of the African College of Surgeons after passing their final membership examination held between the 15th and 17th of October this year.
“On behalf of the entire Faculties of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospitals Complex Freetown and Management and staff of the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital, Freetown, I humbly announce the 100 per cent (8/8) success of our Sierra Leone trained Resident Doctors,” she said.
Dr Forna concluded by affirming that their success was made possible through teamwork and dedication.
“We are very proud of every single one of you,” Dr Forna said.
She further extended her appreciation to the Ministry of Health for giving them the trust to oversee the course.
